The rocket that brought the first man to the moon was an extraordinary accomplishment for mankind. The train was a fast mode of transportation on the ground that most people use in the city. All these things wouldn’t be possible without the invention of gunpowder. Gunpowder was invented by the Chinese for unlimited life, but it turned into a weapon of death and destruction. It changed the world by altering how wars were fought by changing their weapons and tactics and providing entertainment.

First uses of gunpowder in war occurred during the beginning of the Song Dynasty. The Chinese threw arrows with small packages of gunpowder covered by bamboo or paper attached to the arrows. (Ebrey) Eventually, the gunpowder’s explosive force was key to the development of weapons. It was the discovery of how a tube or barrel could be used to send projectiles in battle. It was also used in fireworks and for television and stage productions as special effects for entertainment. Gunpowder uses even found it’s way to farming. In farming gunpowder was used to clear their fields. Nevertheless, its military use has been the profound impact of the invention of gunpowder. Gunpowder and gunpowder’s usages have given people a significant advantage over their opponents. It has altered the way wars transpired and it has changed the civilians’ lives too. Gunpowder lead to the making of modern day guns, grenades, trains, rockets, fireworks for Fourth of July, and much more. The world would have not been the same without the invention of
