The Iraq War, which is known as the Second Gulf War, is a military action led by the United States against the regime of Saddam Hussein, the authoritarian leader of Iraq. American president George W. Bush, who announced the commencement of the war in March 2003, explained that the goals were to free the people and claimed that they had weapons of mass destruction. Many factors went into the decision of United States leaders to engage in war with Iraq in 2003. These causes can be related to various purposes based on the righteousness or national interest of the two countries. The Middle East played a major role in America, especially for the economy. The American dollar had an irreplaceable position that depended on oil because more than a half of the countries in the world use dollar as oil transaction currency, which brought lots of benefit to American. No one can shake the American position in the world. However, Iraq’s decision was the contradictory. They shifted from dollar to euro as an oil currency. Since Iraq is one of the most productions of oil.If they don't use the dollar as oil currency, it will grow up to be a threat to America. Meanwhile, Bush, the American president, had heavy investments in oil during 2003. This company is Halliburton which had the oil industry in Iraq. If they start the Iraq War, the oil would be in short supply. They could increase the oil price to obtain more profits. So Bush and his political parties the biggest beneficiaries in this war. In addition, many companies agreed with Bush because they could get more profits from this war. They could buy or sell the stocks to develop their economy. Then they could use this money to feed back into the American economy. As a result, the American fought Iraq because of economy. Furthermore, the US just wanted to defend their position in the world, and this war can promote their economy in the oil aspect. After the war, the price of oil was increased because Iraq couldn’t restore their economy, especially for producing oil. Moreover, the war improved the sentiment of anti-Americanism in some countries which are almost full of Muslim culture such as Syria. Therefore, some related development organizations of the terrorism and the power of extremist Muslim had formed. For example, terrorists inspired by Osama bin Laden and invited extremist Muslim to against Muslim regime. This regime supported Iraq during the war, and it includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The Iraq War also divided Europe. There is disharmony between the countries that supported Iraq and the countries that were against the war. For example, United Kingdom, Poland, and Spain were the supporter of Iraq. And Germany, Belgium, and France were opponents. They are all belonging to the euro union, but they had different opinions in this war. To sum up, war always brings more disadvantage influence than we thought. The war of Iraq brings various effects to outside. Second, the results of the Iraq war had a huge impact. Over 4600 American soldiers dead in this war and over fifty thousand American soldiers were injured.
