Introduction
 I chose to do my essay on ‘Iron Deficiency Anemia’ because I feel it’s something that is important to me. It’s important to me because there’s a long history of women in my family who were diagnosed with Anemia, including myself. I don't really take ‘Anemia’ as a serious thing so I don't really know the harm that i’m doing to myself not even trying to treat it. I asked my family what they thought I should do my research paper on and they suggested that I do Iron Deficiency Anemia or Hand arthritis. Anemia seemed more interesting. Women have an increased risk of Anemia since women lose blood during menstruation, women are most likely at a higher risk of becoming Anemic. Another group of people who do not eat any types of meats may have a huge risk of iron deficiency anemia if they do not consume other iron-rich foods. Children and Infants children need more iron during their growth spurts. If a child doesn't eat healthy, or have a varied diet, he or she may be at a high risk of anemia. Infants, especially the ones who were at a low birth weight or even born prematurely, don't get enough iron from their mothers breast milk or formula may also be at risk of iron deficiency. Last, the people who constantly donate blood may have a high risk of iron deficiency anemia since blood donations can decrease iron stores. Low hemoglobin in this case, can be treated easily with high rich foods.
Being Anemic also comes with a lot of complications, Mild iron deficiency anemia doesn't usually cause any complications. However, if it is left untreated for a long period of time, anemia can become quite severe and lead to many health problems, including heart problems, growth problems and problems during
