Is College Really Worth It

Sometimes students question themselves if college is really worth it? That question has many answers that only a student can answer and decide for him or herself. There's many obstacles when it comes to college. A student has to be very dedicated in school and they have to know how to manage their personal life, school and work which seems almost impossible. College seems like it has more negative effects than it does positive. There's many scary stories out there about student loans and tuition cost which is all sadly true, they're all crazy expensive that it seems like student loans can never be paid off. Even though college is beneficial in some cases, college has more negative outcomes than positive, which makes us students question ourselves if college is really worth it. There are distractions (parties), college tuition increasing every year (debt) and dropouts are some of the reasons why we doubt college is worth it.

Many students are surrounded by temptations which are college parties and unfortunately get consumed by them. The majority of students get distracted by the parties and forget about their education and responsibilities. Also, many students just go to college for the parties, they don’t really care about the education. Today many Universities have the reputation to be party schools which is partially not a lie. In the CNN documentary “Ivory Tower” Rossi believes that colleges don’t care about the student’s education by stating “Colleges now are just taking your money and basically handing you parties”. Parties can really damage a person's education because the person will lose focus on what really is important which is getting a degree. It is ironic how college is supposed to prepare the students for their future but the environment detours the students from achieving that
