Who is Responsible?
“Un sex me,” a famous quote by Lady Macbeth in the famous play macbeth by william shakespeare is not something someone would just go around saying unless having a compelling reason to. Lady Macbeth is no exception to this at all. Many people who have read the play Macbeth can say with certainty that Macbeth is the one who should be held completely responsible for the killing of King Duncan. Although they have valid reasoning to this controversy, the real person that should be held more responsible is Lady Macbeth. Anyway you look at it, one can see that lady macbeth is more responsible for the murder of King Duncan due to the reasons that she came up with the plan herself, she bullied macbeth into doing it and she laid out

one sees this when he tells her, “We can’t go on with this plan...the king has just honored me” (Crowther). which shows that he really wants to just stay thane of cawdor and that since that came true that in time he will become king too. However upon hearing this Lady macbeth shows her true colors by threatening Macbeth's love for her when she says “Were you drunk when you seemed so hopeful before? have you gone to sleep and woken up green and pale of this idea, from now on this is how i will think of your love” (Crowther) which basically means she told him that if he didn't kill duncan that night, she wouldn’t look at him the same, she wouldn’t think of him the same, and she wouldn't love him the …show more content…
One sees this when lady macbeth thinks “I put the daggers where Macbeth would have found them he couldn’t have missed them.” (Crowther). Which shows she even planned out leaving the knives for him as a final do so. Furthermore she openly admits that she would have killed Duncan before Macbeth got the chance. “If Duncan hadn't reminded me of my father when he was sleeping I would have killed him myself.” (Crowther). Now one can contradict it and say that it doesn't prove it was before Macbeth, however, if one were to look at the context, one would find that she thought that as she was laying the knives out for macbeth to kill duncan first meaning she was in the room way before
