According to James Truslow Adams in 1931, the American dream is defined as “Life should be better, richer, and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement regardless of social class.” I agree with Adams because with hard work and dedication anything is possible regardless of religious beliefs and it doesn’t matter the race. A person can work their way up in the career or profession they are in. With hard work, dedication, and devotion, anything is possible. In the article “Is the American Dream Still Possible?” by David Wallechinsky, Shelly Comer of California has a retirement plan, not for herself, but for her children and their schooling. Shelly comments, “I don’t count on anyone but my family, and
