To cite a reference, Patricia Smith’s article titled, Is Torture Ever Justified?, directly cites President Barack Obama’s opposing arguments against the Central Intelligence Agency’s interrogation tactics of the use of torture; to therefore, safeguard the United States of America’s security when threaten with potential terrorist attacks. Particularly, President Obama has become one of the loudest voices against the various use of torture to protect the United States of America’s security. Nonetheless, as the C.I.A. proclaims that Rahman’s death was caused by hypothermia, Rahman’s autopsy showed various lacerations to his face and lower limbs. Overall, what even makes the story of the C.I.A.’s brutal interrogation tactics of torture on Rahman more sicken is that the tortured victim was unknowingly suspected as a terrorist who wants to kill Americans by any means necessary (Smith, 2015, p. 8). Protecting the United States of America’s security continues to be the forefront after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. As the United States of America continues to find meaningful and justifiable methods during interrogation processes, what continues to linger in the discussion is whether the use of torture is an essential component. For example, as supporters of torture observed that brutal interrogation tactics on terrorism suspects is a justifiable means to protect the nation’s security. Oppositionist against brutal interrogation tactics observed that torture is an invalid and inhumane reasoning to protect the nation’s security and poses a threat to the United States of America’s
