The Islamic empire expanded using three methods. These methods included military conquest, financial ways, and also through treaties. All of these helped Islam to spread from Northern Africa to Spain and to parts of Western Asia by the ninth century.
One way that Islam spread was through fighting in wars. In document A, the Muslims had and important battle called the battle of Yarmuk. In the battle the Muslims gathered, ant the Greek army marched against them. That battle was one of the bloodiest because even some woman took part in it as well as 24,000 Muslims. The Greeks also tied themselves to each other by chains so Muslims wouldn’t leave.
The other way Islam’s spread was bye making treaties with other places, for example one treaty they mad e was called the treaty of Tudmir made in 713 CE. “He will not give shelter to fugitives, nor to our enemies, nor encourage any protected person to fear us nor conceal news of our enemies” is a quote they wrote in the treaty, plus there are a couple of the verses. Another quote is “Slaves must pay half the amount”, which means they pay like a tax but only half as much as the citizens.
