1. One factor of power found in the IPad is how the doctors or nurses are able to receive accurate data from the patient even when the health care professional is not at the hospital. This is important because rather than the doctor having to be called to come see the patient he or she can now stay updated on the patients status wherever he or she is. Another factor of power is having the ability to see live updates on the patient. That way all of those that are responsible for caring for a specific patient no longer have to be in the same room to see the patient’s status. Lastly this can be used as an educational tool for the patient because the doctor needs to explain different aspects of anatomy or the details of a procedure. The IPad can help in this situation because there are many visual aids that are offered in the app store that can show an accurate depiction of what the doctor or whoever is trying to explain.

2. The IPad is pivotal technology to HCA for many different reasons. A main reason this is true is because of how much convenience this technology offers to the entire staff. Not only could it be used for patient care but if the entire organization uses IOS then that will help the organization to be more organized allowing information to be shared with everyone who requires it. Another reason that it is so important is because there are many different things that an IPad can do to help with the patient care process. This ranges from being able to see live updates on a patient’s status from anywhere to being able to show the patient intricate details of a procedure with interactive applications. When patients are informed with such detail it allows them to make the best decision possible when it comes to the treatment options that the doctor makes available to them and when the patient is this well informed it brings him or her piece of mind.

3. There are many different rewards that HCA gains from the use of IPads. Perhaps the largest reward that HCA gets from using IPads is the convenience that they bring to the organization. This piece of technology allows the doctors and nurses to care for more people in a timely manner because of the information updates on patients that are available on the IPad. These IPads allow HCA to efficiently and effectively manage more patients than other organizations with the same number of doctors on staff. However this comes with great risk because of how much reliance HCA has on
