Validity is the degree that the test measures what it affirms to measure. Test validity is crucial to psychologists, because they need the test measures to be precise and correct in order for it to be reliable.
Face validity is the assessment that appraises whether your test measure indeed measures what it intended to measure or not. However, there seem to be a few issues with face validity as it does obtain what is intended ( Spector,2012, p.38). Many of these items in the assessments on face validities are upfront and simple, such as “Did you enjoy the course?”, however, many individuals simply lie in their answers, therefore damaging the accuracy on face validity.
