There are many things that are going on in a computer network. There are many components that make the network run efficiently. These items are not only the computer and the internet connection of computer connections that are happening but the switched and routers that run the network. But it is not just buying these switches and routers, it is learning how to configure the uses these to the up most efficiency. This paper will help your learn the basics with doing this. Yes you have to plug them in and turn then on. Most of them will probably work somewhat. But setting them up to us dynamic of static routing and other options that these switches and routers. This will make for a more a much better routed network. Flow control is the best thing you can do for a small or big network. The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is a network protocol that ensures a loop-free topology for any bridged Ethernet local area network. The basic function of STP is to prevent bridge loops and the broadcast radiation that results from them. A VLAN is a switched network that is logically segmented by function, project team, or application, without regard to the physical locations of the users. VLANs have the same characteristics as a typical LAN set up but you can group end stations even if they are not located on the same LAN. A VLAN is considered a physical network (Catalyst 3550). Here are some of the basic command modes for a router. The default command mode is called User EXEC Mode. In this mode you can connect to remote devices. Privileged EXEC Mode this mode is password protected. You can also use the enable command in this mode.
