In the book Franny and Zooey by J.D Salinger, a family of now grown child geniuses demonstrate the struggles and psychological trauma that childhood celebrity, genius and homeschooled religious education can result in in adulthood. The group of siblings Franny, Zooey, Seymour, and Buddy Glass are the children of Bessie Glass. Seymour acted as a religious guide to his siblings. He was a leader to his younger siblings. They looked up to him and thought everything he said was important and correct. He got along with the kids more than adults did. Seymour was a very important character/element to the story.
