Through hardship, success, and experience I have vastly expanded my knowledge in life and academics which keep molding me to the person I am today. Above all, my four years in the JROTC program has made a life changing impact on me since the beginning. The leadership, determination, and focus that the JROTC program has embedded in me has helped develop every aspect in my life. Despite my imperfection as a human, the courage I have gained through the years and my strong desire to bring pride and honor to my family makes me embrace challenges rather than running from them. I firmly believe that the invaluable lessons and characteristics I have obtained through the JROTC program make me an ideal candidate for the MOAA scholarship. Additionally, I have been a continuous recipient for the A Honor Roll and B Honor roll. Along with the JROTC and academic distinctions, I have also competed in the JROTC Drill team and Color guard. JROTC has made me a dedicated leader which pushes me to encourage rising freshmen to enroll in the program while also helping rising seniors set strong examples. As Executive Officer, I have learned to take on challenges by practicing responsibilities such as organizing cadets for parades, aid underclassman with drills, and many times also asked to guide students outside of the JROTC classroom. With the discipline and responsibility I have acquired for the past four years and with the help of the MOAA scholarship, I am certain and prepared for the upcoming challenges that college has to offer.
