Throughout history there have been many leaders in the world, many of which have done great things, while others have gone down a path evil. There are leaders that have gone on to do great things for different categories of people like ethnicity, religion or just fellow countrymen. Some of these great leaders that are very noteworthy have left behind an amazing legacy like leading a country to victory in a war, settled racial disputes and other various things of that nature. One great leader that lived in America, whom died when he was just fifty-three years old, but was the person who tore down the color barrier, on a day in 1947 (April 15 to be exact), in major league baseball. Even though he might have wanted to be very violent to the people that were calling him names, threatening him, and discriminated against him he restrained himself because he had to show that he could or the experiment would not work. He also played a key part in the civil rights movement by working to achieve the equal rights that African Americans deserved and had been longing and fighting for decades. His legacy also was felt during the time when he was living but it is still very much felt in baseball and other sports today. Bibliography
