What is your primate?
My primate is the Buffy-Tufted-Ear Marmoset.
What is the scientific name?
The scientific name of my primate Callithrix aurita.
Describe the habitat of your animal.
The Buffy-Tufted-Ear Marmoset is found in the montane rain forests and forests of the inland plateau.

Obtain 2 different pictures of your animal. Describe the physical appearance of your animal (details).
The Buffy-Tufted-Ear Marmoset has black and gray fur with black fur over the head and neck. The white ear tufts are most common in adults and juveniles, infants lack ear tufts and have gray fur overhead and neck. The tail has a wide dark bands and pale narrow bands pattern.
Describe the diet of your animal (what do they eat and how do they get it?)
The Buffy-Tufted-Ear Marmoset eat fruits, flowers, nectar, plant parts and little animals, including frogs, snails, lizards, spiders and insects. Marmosets have behavioural adaptations for hollowing out tree trunks and branches and vines.

To signal alarm, aggression, and submission, marmosets use the "partial open mouth stare," "frown," and "slit-stare", respectively. To display fear or submission, marmosets flatten their ear-tufts close to their heads. Marmosets have two alarm calls. One is a series of repeating calls that get higher with each call. The other one being short trickling calls given either intermittently or repeatedly.Marmosets also employ "phees" which are whistle-like generic calls. These serve to attract mates, keep groups together, defend territories, and locate missing group members. Marmosets will use scent gland on their chests and genital regions to mark objects.
