James Gatz, or Jay Gatsby, born in 1892, was murdered at the age of thirty-two on September 1st 1922. He was killed in West Egg by the hand of George Wilson. Wilson, enraged and desperately seeking to avenge his late wife, shot Gatsby in his home that late afternoon. The news of his death rings throughout New York, although most choose to ignore it. The fallen leaves gather in the pool in which he died, and those same leaves drift to the edge, leaving him lonely and frigid. The cold grip of sorrow flows in the autumn breeze.
