This story of finding myself and defining my passion starts with my very best friend, teacher, mentor, and motivator. This person of interest goes by the name of Jayme Updike. Jayme was my chorus director in my schooling years of sixth and seventh grade.
Before I joined the chorus group we called ‘cantabile’, I didn't have much meaning to school. I just joined chorus to meet friends. What I never expected was to meet the person who would change my life forever.
As I began chorus, I realized it was much more than just singing like you do in the shower. It includes key change, tone quality and many other qualities that make singing in choir just as tedious, laborious, and intensive as any instrument.
