1 How does Jeannette's visit with Ginnie Sue compare to the rumors circulating about Ginnie in Welch? There were many rumors circulating about Ginnie in Welch. Rumor had it that Ginnie Sue was a prostitute. Her husband’s name was Clarence and they had nine children but none of them were Clarence’s. Although Ginnie Sue didn’t look like any of the women Jeanette had seen at the Green Lantern, she wanted to know more about Ginnie’s profession. Jeanette wanted to know what her kids thought of Ginnie’s profession as well. When Jeanette was invited over to Ginnie’s house by her daughter, she helped remove meat from a rooster carcass so she could make chicken rolls. After they were finished and they starting eating the rolls, Jeanette told Ginnie and her daughter all about life in California. After they were done talking and Jeanette was on her way home, she realized she hadn’t gotten answers to any of her questions.
