In a brief summary after watching the performance SHIDA, I noticed that the Jeannette Bayardelle performed many diverse roles of people that were involved in the scenarios. She had a distinctive ability to allow the viewers to imagine what she was speaking about. Not only was she able to act, but in the same way sing with a soulful voice which conveyed chills when she hit a high note. Jeannette was a dual threat during her performance. As for the story, it seemed very genuine because of the actions that she described. The fact that she is strong enough to speak about her best friends' situation is unbelievable. As a result the viewers felt the passions rising and falling while observing. For example, when the mood was cheerful they would use really bright colors to help represent the situation. In addition when things were opposite they used the darker colors or even specifically red to showcase the realness of the scenario. The way the performer used the lighting to tell the stories was very important to the performance in general, besides her stories having such an existent impression. As she was explaining them you could visualize what she was saying. At the end, I was not surprised that she was the best friend of the girl going through all these hardships. Being emotionally connected to the individual involved in the circumstance creates a better story for her to tell as a performer.
