In the novel A Lesson before Dying a young man by the name of Jefferson was sentenced to the death penalty for robbery and murder. As a result of negligence Jefferson has to pay with his life. Being convicted caused Jefferson to become an inconsiderate animal-like zombie. Understanding how that would be traumatized by being called a “hog”. How would you feel if you were convicted of a crime you didn’t commit? Jefferson was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
