After my experience with my first community assignment, I am eager to learn more about another group of society that I am not currently familiar with. As my second community assignment, I have chosen to go attend a service at a Jewish temple. While I was raised a catholic, I ended up straying away from religion when I got to the age that my parents let me decide if I wanted to attend church. Therefore, I do not even have much in depth knowledge of my own religion. However, I do have memories of Catholic Church services I had gone to as a child. I am interested to see how the religions differ. I look forward to gathering information from a first-hand experience and learn more about the Jewish faith.
I am unsure of the attire for the Jewish temple service, so I will need to research this to insure that I am dressed appropriately. As of now, I am planning on wearing nice, casual jeans along with a conservative blouse. I expect the other girls at the service to be dressed in the casual jeans and blouse as well. As for the boys attire, I also am expecting them to be wearing casual jeans also, with a button up shirts. I also know that the boys of the Jewish faith wear a circular cloth on their head. Including the outdoor appearance, the indoor decor, and look to see if there are distinct objects relating to the Jewish faith. I envision the design inside of the temple to be much like the catholic church I used to go to, just with different Jewish characteristics. I don’t picture there being a lot I am expecting the temple to have the rows of benches facing a podium where the members of the temple will stand to talk. I am interested to see if the Jewish temple service is run the same way as a catholic church in which one leader of the church gives the lecture of the service, or if the Jewish service is run a different
