On January 20, 1961, John F. Kennedy (JFK) became our 35th president. The same day that he became our leader, he bestowed upon us a great illustration. He told us,“ My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. ”(J.F.K inaugural speech) This speech is memorable and grand, it evoked millions of Americans to follow the young leader’s ideas. The purpose of this speech was to not only introduce himself to the world as the new president but also to display that our country is strong. This speech is still beneficial today because many people see it as encouragement to move America forward and become a better nation.
