How many presidents will truly benefit our country? How many will help unite this country as one? JFK was an inspiring president because of his breath-taking speeches and his outstanding leadership in PT-109. One reason that qualifies him to be a great leader is his astonishing Gold Star speech while electing for Congress. In the 10 minutes he spoke, he attracted the hearts of women who lost their sons in World War II. From p. 42-43, it quotes “But they hear his well-chosen words as he reminds them of his own war record and explains why their sons’ sacrifices were so meaningful, speaking in an honest, sincere voice about their bravery.”. As his speech concludes, women surge towards him. Many had tear in their eyes, they all reach out to JFK who reminds them of the sons they lost, telling them that he has their support.
