Jim Abbott was born without an arm and always wanted to play baseball. He kept working until he finally made it to the major leagues. Jim Abbott created a feeling of hope for people with one arm, used persistence to innovate ways to overcome challenges, like pitching and fielding with one arm, and illuminated the world by making people with one limb have hope. The thing that Jim Abbott is probably most recognized for is the fact that he played in the major leagues with only one arm. What was really incredible about Jim Abbott was at each level of baseball, he started getting comments about how he was not going to make it to the next level of baseball.
