Jim Jones was faced with many difficult times throughout his childhood, which eventually resulted in him being responsible for hundreds of deaths of men, women, and children. “He was the son of James Thurman Jones, a disabled World War I veteran, and Lynetta Jones, who worked a variety of jobs. Jones was largely left to himself as his mother was often working and his father had little interest in him” (Biography.com). As a child, this is being neglected by the two people who are supposed to be supportive role models as the child is continuing to develop. Feeling unwanted by one or both parents has a huge impact on the child and as they grow because it begins to change their minds as they look for those missing figures in their lives. “As an
