The parents probably would tell their son that he will never make it as an actor, or telling him that he would never make it as an actor. His parents tell their son all of these lies about becoming an actor, to the point where the boy does not follow his dreams. Instead the boy becomes a football player, he grows up makes it to the NFL, but it still bothers him that he is not an actor as a grown adult. It is like his parents killed his childhood dreams.
