James Earl Carter was the 39th president of the United States of America, USA. There was a lot more to his presidency than most other presidents before him. He worked very hard to achieve the things he did while ni presidency, as well as post presidency. Jimmy Carter was very successful in dealing with other countries, creating new ideas to help the people, and had a different outlook on how the country should be ran. Jimmy Carter had an easy upcoming in his early life. He was born October 1, 1924, in Plains Georgia. He was the first president to be born in an actual hospital.His parents lived and worked in the small town their entire life. His parents names are Lillian Gordy Carter and James Earl Carter. Jimmy Carter attended Plains High School from 1930 to 1941.During this time period the great depression set in, causing him to help out more with his family. (“Jimmy Carter Biography”, n.d.). The Carter’s needed help with the peanut farm the owned. Soon after Jimmy left school, his family decided to send him back to school, When he came back, he played on the basketball team. This helped with some leadership skills. After he graduated from High School he applied for the Naval Academy. The Naval Academy is a great honor to attend. (“Jimmy Carter Biography”, n.d.). The first time he applied he was not accepted. The reason why he was not accepted was because he needed one more math credit that he could not get in high school. He was worried during the caucuses that he wouldn't be the representative for the democratic party. Carter was able to gain enough popularity and votes to become the rep for democrats. Carter campaigned against General R. Ford, which was apart of republican party. when election time came around, Ford had 241 votes while, Carter had 297 votes. The presidency was a close race that required much determination for Carter. January 20, 1977 is when Jimmy Carter was officially president After the presidential win Carter jumped into helping other nations right away.

Carter sought to portray himself as a man of the people. Carter always dressed informally. Carter adopted a folksy speaking style.He let many women and minorities work in the house. Lot of democratic people in the house and senate, during his presidency. Congress blocked carter's proposal reform as well as the proposal for a long-range enemy program. a central focus that was in his campaign.
