Consequent to France’s rationality on “Social Class”, Joan of Arc’s adolescence was obstructed by the distinction as a “peasant woman”, causing her to be brought up into the beliefs of Christianity; establishing her as a faithful Christian. Nurthered in the “lowest class”, Henry David Thoreau, recognized writer and social radical, once wrote, “ as you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty”. Raised in the clutches of poverty, Joan of Arc’s early youth was confined to sewing and spinning rather than access to an education; a norm for country girls at the time (“Joan of Arc”).
