Job Shadowing Reflection

I had the opportunity to spend the morning with Dr. Vincent Ripepi, an orthopedic surgeon working throughout the southwestern Pennsylvanian area. During the day of my job shadow, Dr. Vincent Ripepi was currently having his office hours at the Advanced Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation branch office in Charleroi Pennsylvania. The Advanced Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Group, is a practice of orthopedic surgeons and physicians whose main office is in Washington Pennsylvania, but they have numerous branch offices throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. On the day I performed my job shadow, I arrived at the branch office a little before 8 A.M. Once I arrived, I walked into the office and spoke with the secretary, who already knew I was coming to job shadow Dr. Vincent Ripepi by talking to him before hand. She then led me to his office where I shook his hand and introduced myself. Once the introductions were over, the first patients began arriving for their appointment. This officially started my job shadowing experience where I was entering the rooms with Dr. Vincent Ripepi observing him, and introducing myself to the patients. As the day went along and we had breaks in between seeing patients, I was able to ask Dr. Vincent Ripepi numerous questions. Ripepi was well spent. It was an awesome experience and this experience even increased my drive to become a physician even more. Dr. Ripepi not only showed me what an orthopedic surgeon does, but also gave really good advice on becoming a physician. Although the road to become a medical doctor is a very bumpy and challenging road, I believe if I continue doing what I am doing now and keep the work ethic I have, I should be fine. Currently, I need to take everything gradually by finishing my senior year out strong, and continuing my academic success well into my undergraduate years of
