GOAL: The goal of this youth meeting is for teens to understand the longing they have in their hearts to be loved unconditionally and to find the source and answer of their longing in Jesus Christ.

Gather the teens into the main meeting space. Welcome them to the youth meeting and begin in prayer.

7:05 Scripture Reading

A member of the Core Team will begin the evening with a reading from Sacred Scripture. Read John 4:4-42, Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well. In this passage Jesus tells the woman that He will give her living water. The purpose of reading this passage is explain to the teens that Christ is the source of all life and all happiness which will be explained in the talk.

I remember when I was a lot younger, that after playing outside for hours with the other kids in the neighborhood I would run into the house, completely out of breath, and demand that my mother give me a glass of water. I was just a child then, but I still knew my body needed something although at the time I would not label it as thirst. Jesus talked a lot about being thirsty. Such as the in the scripture passage we just read. At the beginning of the story Jesus asked the Samaritan woman for a drink. While this initially might not seem like such a big deal for one person to ask another for a drink, we have the remember the time and culture that Jesus lived
