John Hancock was born on January 12, 1737 in Braintree (Quincy), Massachusetts. He was orphaned as a child and was adopted by a wealthy merchant uncle.When his uncle died, Hancock inherited his lucrative shipping business. John graduated from Harvard College with a business education at the age of 17. In 1760, he was sent on a business mission to England. He witnessed the coronation of George III. From 1780 to 1785, Hancock was the first governor of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts. On August 2, 1776 he was the first member of the Continental
Congress to sign the Declaration of Independence at the age of 39. When he signed his name on the Declaration of Independence he wrote in big bold letters. He did that because he was the leader of Congress

Later he established himself as a merchant. He was then involved in the Patriot movement. After the war William Whipple was appointed as an associate justice of the Superior Court of New Hampshire. He signed the Declaration of
Independence on August 2, 1776 at the age of 46. While representing New Hampshire at the
Continental Congress. He then suffered from an heart ailment for several years and then he died, fainting from atop his horse while traveling his court circuit on November 28, 1785. John Adams was born on October 30, 1735 in Braintree, Massachusetts. He began his education in a common school in Braintree. He then secured a scholarship to Harvard and graduated at the age of 20. He was married on October 25, 1764 and moved to Boston getting a prominent position in the patriot movement. He was elected to the Massachusetts Assembly in
1770, and was chosen one of five to represent the colony at the First Continental Congress in
1774. He signed the Declaration of Independence on August 2, 1776 at the age of 40 . He died on
July 4, 1826. His final toast to the Fourth of July was ‘’ Independence Forever!’’ Samuel Adams was born on September 27, 1722 in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents
