RIP Rough Draft While brainstorming ideas for my Rhetoric in Practice Project, I thought of doing something that not only portrays the class theme, but also relates to some form of writing I will encounter later on in my professional career, which is somewhere in the pharmaceutical field. The situation in the class text, Station Eleven written by Emily St. John Mandel, revolved around the great trauma that the survivors of the flu endured. I was further inspired by the incomplete list of things that Mandel states would be lost such as, “No more pharmaceuticals” (31). The purpose of the Zoloft prescription label is to inform depressed Syrian refugees of warnings, side effects, and directions for the drug they will be taking. Knowing what the information means can help one know which medicine you are taking and how to take it properly. The purpose of the cover letter from a drug company is to convince hospitals to start carrying the drug Zoloft. Specifically, I achieve this message through my cover letter by focusing on research and evidence of the effectiveness of Zoloft.
