1.) Brief Overview of the article. The article by John Ourand, a staff writer for Sport’s Business Daily Global Journal composed an article basically summing up ESPN’s recent cuts. This article discusses in lengths the reasoning for the employee ratios decreasing for the benefit of the company. The company’s business model and ideal organization of the company’s finances were not being properly recorded and when it came down to pay distribution they realized financially they could not support their full staff. Therefore, ESPN had to let go of not weak links, but less important roles to make it slightly possible to finance those needed to keep the company afloat.
