This character’s name is John Proctor, he is the tragic hero in The Crucible. He has his evils and his virtues. John does three major things that make him a tragic hero. First, he has an affair with his apprentice. Second, he does not go to church on Sunday and he works on Sunday’s as well. Third, his son is not baptized. Now the positive things is he stops having an affair and goes back to his wife. He is thought to be a witch and never tells a falsehood to save his life. He helps everyone realize that Abigail is crazy. John shows that he is the most tragic hero in The Crucible by having an affair, doesn’t go to church, and his son is not baptized. John Proctor’s wife was sick after having a child, and that is why she thinks John
