To be specific, John Proctor committed adultery with his servant and thought he could hide it. It can support that he has hubris. Also, he suffers death as a result of his mistake. It can evoke readers’ pity. At last, he realizes his bad, and tries to fix that into right way. All of these facts are supporting Proctor as a tragic hero.
