I believe that John Proctor’s “flaw” led him to his death. His strength was his downfall, John was an honest man that wouldn’t lie to save his own hide. Yes, John was an adulterer and yes, he tried to hide it, but he never lied about it. He told his wife and she forgave him and threw the temptation away. Later on he was tempted and overcame the temptation to commit adultery again. (Miller 22) He even goes so far to confess in front of a court and witnesses (Miller 110). He was obviously regretful of his choice and had repented, he was just that honest.

That’s why he died. While everyone else was lying their tails off, he’s standing up for truth, and setting a good example for his sons. He didn’t deserve to die for someone else’s paranoia
