The book of Matthew is in the New Testament of the Bible. In this paper, we will learn about John the Baptist in Matthew 11: 1-19, Matthew 3: 1-17 and Matthew 14: 1-12. This story happened in early A.D. or after the death of Christ. John was a good godly man. However, some people thought he was a little different. John served time in prison, and that is where John first heard about the Messiah. He lived in the wilderness and ate locust dipped in honey. John was the son of Zacharias and Elizabeth.
