Band Members: The Tennessee Two which consisted Johnny Cash playing the rhythm acoustic guitar, Marshall Grant playing the bass, and Luther Perkins playing the electric lead guitar. It eventually became known as the the Tennessee Three with the addition of a drummer which was W.S. Holland. Johnny Cash was a part of the Million Dollar Quartet which consisted himself, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins.

His significant hits at Columbia Records included “Ring of Fire” (1963) and “A Boy Named Sue” (1969). He stayed with Columbia Records from 1958-1986. During the 60s, Johnny Cash was able to release four concept albums and two live prison concert albums. Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison (1968) and Johnny Cash at San Quentin (1969) both gained him international attention and they hit number one on the Billboard country album charts.

The form of this song would be “Simple Verse-Chorus Form.” (Chorus/ Verse/ Verse/ Verse/ Chorus). The chorus was at the beginning and the end of the song with three verses in between.
The instruments used in “I Walk the Line” are the snare drum and a bass and of course Johnny Cash is the singer playing with an acoustic guitar.
The bass had a little bit of a rhythm to it as the song was playing. However, the snare drum played the same thing throughout the whole song. In this song, Johnny Cash has a really deep voice, and he would be considered singing bass.
