Sunshine poured in through the windows behind me, as I sat at the Hokage’s desk. It was around noon, and the weather was at its strongest today. I had opened all of the windows in hopes of relieving myself, if just a bit, of the intense heat that had been taking over the village this past month. Konoha was experiencing summer’s prime, which meant sales were up, and travelers populated the village more than ever. It was the busiest time of the year and my favorite time, as well. The village buzzed with life around this time, and it was my favorite time for festivals, too.

Shortly after the war, Kakashi Hatake became the new Hokage, due to Tsunade’s resignation. Kakashi has been a great Hokage to the village these past two years, and he’s even been able to suppress some of his old habits. Although, it seems that old habits die hard.
I stamped the next mission report before me, and placed it into the pile of B-rank missions. I would much rather be out on the field than sitting in the Hokage’s office, which was becoming more like an oven over time.
