the construction of the act and the graduates agency in the scene appoints the graduates as heroes in the myth he proposes. To be heroes the audience members must contribute to reversing the act, and in turn the myth defines their virtues, truth, justice, and compassion. The community must uphold these virtues because the community outlines them, and in this myth Ramos upholds these virtues and is therefore a hero. More importantly, it is a demonstration of why the speech is impactful. The audience he is speaking to is the 2014 graduating class of the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism that prides itself on fostering “ambitious, curious, innovative, skillful and dedicated” students (). As graduates with much potential these students have the ability to carry out the agency that Ramos taught them. It is also important to note that this audience in particular is special because of the university's connection to Ramos. Ramos states part of the reason they are there is “to celebrate the collaboration between the Fusion the company (he) works for and USC Annenberg” This fellowship allows students from the school of communication to intern as employees at Fusion. However Burke’s categorical definition of act, scene agent, agency, and purpose more clearly outline how to construct a persuasive narrative to address the audience. The pentadic framework gives the speaker the ability to more clearly compose how the narrative will unfold.
