My name is Joseph and as a young boy, I had deal with jealousy, hate, and unfaithfulness from my brother’s. The actions of my brother’s were due to the lack of attention by my father.
I was born by Rachel, the wife of Jacob. I was known as the wealthiest man in Canaan. Jacob had a large farm and raised sheep and crops. Because he was rich, Jacob was privileged enough to own many nice things, including coat’s of many colors. Jacob had a total of twelve sons including his son Joseph, he showed his love to each of his sons, yet he favored and showed most of his love to me.
At the young age of seventeen I presented Joseph a colorful coat that was made for him by his mother. I reasured his new colorful coat, yet his brother’s jealousy towards Joseph grew stronger. After a period of time as a slave the Potiphar’s wife took notice of his features tried to seduce him. The Potiphar’s wife approached me but I refused to acknowledge her. Potiphar was furious that he trusted me in his household, I was sent to jail in the king’s prison. I n prison, the chief jailor and I got along well he decided to put me in charge of all the other prisoners, including Pharaoh’s butler and baker. One night both the butler and the baker had strange dreams. I interpreted the dreams, saying that in three days time the butler would be recalled to his former position while the baker would be killed. Sure enough, three days later, Pharaoh restored the butler to his job and killed the baker. I asked the butler to mention his name to Pharaoh in the hope that I would be
