Mr Alexander Walker’s appeal against Judge Freeland QC’s judgement, in Central London County Court. On trial in this appeal is Sir Bernard Rix et al, within the Court of Appeal (Civil Division).
Upon the early hours of 12 July 2008, police officers responded to a complain regarding an accusation of assault by Mr Walker’s partner. When arriving on scene, the appellant showed aggressive behaviour towards the officers. Mr Walker was briefly detained, without any contact, by PC Adams in the doorway for merely a few seconds, preventing him from moving away.
Based on the evidence given by PC Adams, it was alleged that the appellant was told calm down or else he would get arrested. However, Mr Walker remained aggressive. Therefore, PC Adams stated
