Define love, love is the emotion of being attracted to an object by the comfort that it gives you. Is being in love the same thing as loving something, this is a question that that I asked myself after reading this book. I can’t tell if June (the main character in this book) is in love or if she loves what Day (the second main character in this book) is giving. This book shows the reader the real meaning of love and how it can persuade a person’s opinion. So why are we passionate for the love that someone can give, why do we strive for acceptance from others? June is a teenage girl who is sought out to be one of the most dangerous people in the republic. She is very emotional and opinionated girl, her talents are being able to think through a situation and come up with an answer, many times in the book it refers to her keeping track of the precise time it has been since an event. In the act of trying to do this their emotions get in the way of their original plan and they don’t know what is right and who to trust anymore. Later in the book after they have solved the problems between each other the colonies become their new obstacle, they get to the colonies which are great cities with lights as far as you can see which they expected because they were told that the colonies was high quality place to live. But after a night or so there they realize that it is worse than the republic and try to leave but the colonies will not let them. They finally get away and return to the republic. The climax happens when Day finds out that he is going to die from a tumor in his brain and all of the love and feelings for June disappear and he knows what he has to
