What are some strengths and weaknesses of the learning preferences and emotional intelligence tests that we have learned about? According to the Brain Shots Hemispheric Preference quiz, you are able to get an idea of which side of your brain that you use the most. There are three different classifications that you can fit into either analytical, global, or integrated. If someone is analytical their strengths are able to recognize and remember names, solve problems through logic, remember verbal instructions, and much more. Their weaknesses are things such as listening to open-ended assignments and problem solving through their gut feeling. If you have a global brain, you’re able to recognize and remember faces, good at interpreting body language, remember best through images and pictures, and more. The strengths of this test is that it allows someone to reflect on how they see themselves as they take the assessment. You are able to allow to explore who you are and also learn who you are through this assessment. The weaknesses of this test are that after you take this test you might think that you got the wrong answer. You might think that you are completely opposite from the answer that you receive, but the answer that you got was your personality in the moment that you took the test.
From watching Daniel Goleman’s talk about the five emotional competencies, I learned that all intelligences and emotional competencies can be learned. Our personality can reflect back to the five competencies. The strengths of these emotional competencies allow us to understand ourselves better and also learn from what we don’t have. You are also able to better take control of your emotions. I think that this assessment is a good one to use to better understand who you are and to potentially become a better
