The war that I think has some of the same similarities as the Biblical Just War is Operation Iraqi Freedom. It all stated back in October of 2001 and as many would say it is still going on to this present day. The war started when the Iraqi terrorists engaged in an unannounced attack on the US soil killing innocent people. The Americans declared war on the Iraqi nation out of retaliation. The U.S. has used and is still using all of its power to stabilize the country for the better. The current president at that time started the war on Iraq to capture the person or persons that was in charge for the on the 9/11 attack and to stop terrorist operations from openly doing whatever they wanted to in this country. The mission of the United States at that time was not to destroy the entire terrorist staff, its intent was to reassemble and establish a strong democracy for the Afghans. To this day we are still actively trying to teach the people of Afghanistan how to defend for themselves and help lead them to building a more established government. We did not make this war for selfish gain, but for the welfare of not only the people living in America, but for the country of Afghanistan and the entire world. The Operation Enduring Freedom Is classified as a Just War and it follows the Biblical aspects of war. Terrorism won’t be permitted and it shall be stopped.
