The next morning, everyone goes to court to see Justine’s trial. While there, nobody believes Justine when she says she is innocent and many things are said about her that make her look guilty. Justine realizes no one is going to believe her and pleads guilty instead because she knows either way, she will be accused as a murderer. Elizabeth and Victor then visit her in her cell and have a long talk with her and they explain that they do not believe she is guilty of William’s death. She gives them thanks and tells them not to worry about her and then she dies.
