I also was trained to make monthly phone calls to the families to check-up and to remind them of the monthly group sessions. This experience has aided me into acquiring skills of being empathetic, critical thinking and communication skills to find solutions for families in need of assistance and I have acquired more knowledge on how to become a victim advocate. These skills are needed for being an intake clerk due to the individual needing to be understanding and also critical in how to best transition juveniles to have a more productive stay in the center, hopefully to stray away from crime once released.
