How would u feel if your child was arrested and sentenced to serve life for a crime they committed? My argument is based on the juvenile justice system and how some juveniles are serving their sentences in prison and the others in the juvenile system. Sentencing juveniles to life in prison is not allowing them to be able to have a second chance, nor have the chance to live there life, also they would not have a chance at an education.
A second chance for a teen is something that says that this their last chance to get their lives on track and not be the same person. My reasoning for saying this is if you were to arrest a juvenile and not give them a chance of parole gives them no hope to be able to change their lives and become a different

The main reason i say this is because if they don’t they will most likely end up do nothing with their lives when they are released. According to Garinger, “. . . Young people are biologically different from adults. . . They cannot be held to the same standards when they commit terrible wrongs.”(Garinger, paragraph 5). This quote shows that young people can’t be held accountable for their actions because a young person is biologically different from an adult. According to Garinger, “As a former juvenile court judge, i have seen firsthand the enormous capacity of children to change and turn themselves around.”(Garinger, paragraph 8). Some people don’t agree with my side of the argument because they feel that a juvenile can still get an education within a prison full of grown adults. Well according to Garinger, “ These children were told they could never change and that no one cared what became of them. They were denied of access to education and rehabilitation programs and left without help or hope.”(Garinger, paragraph 3). This quote shows that prisons did not offer education access nor rehabilitation programs. According to Garinger, “i urge the justices to apply the logic and wisdom of their earlier decisions and affirm that the best time to decide when someone should spend his entire life in prison is when he has grown to be an adult not when he is still a child.”(Garinger, paragraph 10). This quote shows that the best time to decide if someone should spend their entire life in prison is when they are and adult. Every person who said that a child should serve their sentence in prison is wrong and doesn’t know all the disadvantages it gives a kid. Sentencing juveniles to life in prison doesn't give them the right to have a second chance, nor does it allow them to live their lives, and lastly i does not give them the right of an education. My main argument is based on the fact the a juvenile should not serve a life sentence in a prison but in fact shouldn’t serve a life sentence at all. I also based
