Medical situations can be a very intricate thing to deal with when it comes to allergies or injuries, if information is not properly passed on wrong medicine or treatment could be administered resulting in further complications of even death of the casualty/patient. A major miscommunication that has happened to Australians in a war like situation which I have read about was involved during the Charge at The Nek. The 3rd light horse was supposed to charge and attack the Turkish trenches at Nek at 4:30am on the 7th of August 1915, unfortunately information incorrectly interpreted made the destroyer sitting off shore fire its shells over the target of the trenches and also the ship ended the bombardment early by a full 7 minutes. This resulted in the light horse officer holding back his men until the correct attack time as a result they were shot down by Turkish machine gun fire almost instantly. The second line then advanced for an attack climbing over the bodies of the first line but was also shot down by accurate machine gun fire. After the second wave fell they contemplated a cancellation of the charge but that idea was thrown out by Major John Antill. The third line of the light horse which was now from the 10th light horse had also charged the Turkish soldiers and suffered the same fate being shot down. There was a final miscommunication between the right side of the light horse that did not receive the correct word and charged which forced the rest of the same line to follow on with the charge; this resulted in the final line charging directly into enemy fire and being shot down. This had a total of 372 casualties 234 fatal. This is a very good example of how if information that has not been passed on correctly or passed on at all can be very disastrous to soldiers in the army and Australian suffered great losses in this single
