Living in Hawaii has its perks. We have the perfect sunny weather, great places to sight see and the gorgeous beaches for all to enjoy. Vacations to our beautiful islands are known for our beaches, but these beautiful places are quickly becoming polluted with tons of plastic debris that is being carried from land, passing cruise ships, and factories. This plastic waste poses dozens of threats to wildlife both on land and at sea and reduces the tourist attraction. As residents of Hawaii, we can all participate together to help reduce the use of plastic count on beaches, be conscious with what we take to the beach, and help do our part and clean up what others leave behind.

Nobody would want to go to see beach and see it trashed. As the years have gone by our community has been doing an amazing job with beach clean up we have several big foundations such as the Surfrider foundation which is known for one of the biggest beach clean ups around the world and has helped preserve so many beaches. It is great that we have these foundations but we do not need to be in some sort of organization to preserve or do beach cleanups. We can do it ourselves on a daily basis and prevent trash from polluting our ocean more than it already is. By getting a group of friends to help out here and there can go a long way. By cleaning up the beach we will know we are not laying down on a sharp object or getting in dirty water which can result in being cut by a piece of plastic, preserving our wildlife in the ocean and can enjoy the benefits our beautiful beaches have to offer. I am sure my friends and family would like to see the beach clean when we go to relax or
